Steps in Faith

3.png

What are the steps to being a Christian? Many different denominations have differing opinions on what you need to do to become a Christian and how you make it to heaven. Thankfully God provided us with the Bible which is the only place to find the truth.

Most important step: Receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

"If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

Being a new Christian I had many questions regarding following Jesus and here are some of my questions and links to explanations.

  6. What does it mean to be born again? Answer

  7. How do I get right with God? Answer

  8. What is a profession of faith? Answer

  9. Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? Answer

  10. How can we be filled with the Holy Spirit? Answer

The good news is at any moment you can declare your faith in Jesus. On my journey following Jesus I decided to be baptized on Easter Sunday of 2025. Baptism is the symbol of what has already occurred in the heart and life of one who has trusted Christ as Savoir. Below please find my testimony and baptism videos. I have also included my favorite versus that have made me think twice about my actions and how I live my life.

Bible Verses that are changing my heart!

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."

“Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."

"Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere."

"When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality; impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility. quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy; drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.  But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living be the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."
